  • Michael has a good point, being the first in the market allows a company to set the standard and become the known name. While R&D costs may be higher, they will likely face increased sales due to their position as first in the market. It's a great strategy.
How would a company determine if the market was ready for new technology?
  • Michael

Excellent use of technology, I am certainly very interested to learn more. If you would like to share more and bounce ideas with others in a Mastermind Group for Independent Recruiters come join us at http://www.twibes.com/group/PhatHeads

  • Hi Animal,

Good question... however, where's the fun in coming in 2nd? :)

Seriously though, there's enough room in our industry to carve out a compelling story with mobile marketing, have fun, and make a few mistakes in the process. The reality is that most of us (including myself) have not worked for employers who understand how to leverage mobile marketing strategies. As a result, we lose out to a huge potential of tapping into an largely "untapped" channel. I completely get your point; however, if we wait until the next person perfects it, we miss out on the fun of creating it? :)

What I have discussed in this video is pretty basic stuff, but the practice of mobile marketing runs far greater than what was covered. I hope at least it provides others with some food for thought....

    Cheers!
  • Mike, is it profitable to be the first into something like mobile?

Maybe it's better to let someone else figure out the delivery and establish the market - then come in with your superior content once the market is established.
