Jason Leonard is the founder of Talent Maze which provides an Internet based exchange connecting Hiring Companies willing to use search firms with the extended marketplace of external Recruiters who represent top talent. He is often described as an excellent negotiator and manager who is respected for a strong commitment to develop and facilitate best practices which support corporate and departmental goals. The company is not a job board or sourcing tool, rather it represents an improved way to connect buyers (Employers) and sellers (Recruiters) within the Recruiting industry through a marketplace concept, at no additional cost to either party. (Comparable business models in other verticals include Ebay, Auto Trader and Lending Tree.) Talent Maze provides a secure, easy-to-use and relevant online product that solves for many of the inefficiencies and pain points that exist in the Staffing industry today.

    Not a bad interview at all...although I would have preferred that the DP use a tripod, I got a little dizzy watching it (I know the whole lo-def thing is in these days, though)!

    The point Jason makes about their business model is really true, the "recruiting marketplace" concept is really taking off and although he optimistically downplays the competition, the market is getting more and more crowded. It's getting harder for employers to discern between these sites aside from small differences in cost (Dayak is I think the lead in this department, although to be truthful they're the only one I've managed to make a placement with).

    My question is, how do these companies dominate their corner of a stuffed market? Do they each have niches I'm unaware of?
