Bill Boorman – Bill Boorman Consultancy Limited
Bill Boorman is something of a recruitment veteran, having worked in the industry for 22 years. All this despite being told at his first job that he didn’t have a future in the business! At the age of 42, the industry has given him most of his experience, having worked in most market places. Recruitment has given him an insight in to the workings of many companies and he believes that this has given him a broad based understanding of business and people in general. He bases his training and consultancy work on this experience. He describes himself as being a non-academic trainer, preferring instead to deliver “true life” training that mixes reality with theory. Through his many experiences he has many case studies that help make sense of the problems delegates face. Having worked in one of the most competitive of industries, Bill understands how to differentiate from the competition and is sales focussed. He believes anyone can sell provided they have the right attitude and follow some simple rules. Self-discipline is the key to success! In terms of management Bill has developed many staff from new supervisors through to Directors. He focuses his training in 3 key areas; People development, performance management and business development. Consistency and fairness is the key to management success. He enjoys the challenge of advising on real problems, suited to his facilitive style. He writes his own simulations, exercises and role-plays based on the business he is working in. As a presenter, Bill has delivered many keynotes to industry leaders, working to his usual aim of informing, amusing, educating and inspiring change. It’s a simple belief that people learn best when they are smiling. Personally, Bill is married with two children, who give him plenty of inspiration. He runs marathons around the world badly and slowly, and loves being in the great outdoors. He launched Bill Boorman Consultancy in November 2005 to share this experience with others and to develop training and consultancy for a wider ranger of companies and develop keynote presentations to a bigger audience.

    Greetings Bill,

I've found your discussion very informative and relevant. I'm a new recruiter in the game with several years of managed staffing experience as my introduction to the recruiting world. I've found many things that I share with my candidates and clients reiterated by you in your talk here and it's very reassuring to know that I think I'm getting it right because a seasoned professional is espousing some of the things that I've seen and learned. Your ideas and tips are very helpful, as all of the professionals here at XtremeRecruiting have been. I just wanted to make a moment to say thank you for sharing in what is typically a very competitive and 'circle-wagoned' industry and sharing a few gems and insights to help those of us who would listen. It is much appreciated.

    Warmest of Regards,
